I'm happily reading Anna K. and Nabokov's notes on the same. Gotta go to Beaufort this morning, but I hope to post something substantial this evening -- provided I don't get distracted by two Bergman DVDs I got from the library: Shame -- which I've wanted to see ever since reading Pauline Kael's ecstatic review in Going Steady -- and The Passion of Anna. I am in such a mood for Bergman and Bunuel lately; whenever I think of the words "simple and straightforward yet thoughtful and complex" their movies soar to mind like no other.
