Speaking of voting Republican:

The Ramones were inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. When the band received its honor, Mr. Ramone, a staunch Republican, declared, "God bless President Bush, and God bless America."

Today's Times obit of the great Johnny Ramone, dead at 55 from prostate cancer. (Who would have thought that a Ramone didn't beat off regularly?)
