Quoting Rosenbaum's excellent piece led to a fine little dustup in Readerville, where David Ehrenstein -- a bit of a disciple of Gore Vidal -- doing his usual predictable meltdown; more or less the hoped-for effect, in other words, although I did gather some middling support from a few others.
