In his fiction, essays, and interviews, Philip Roth often comes across as a man of quick, sharp, unremitting opinions who suffers neither fools or interviewers gladly. This NPR interview is way too short, but it shows a different side to him: easy, thoughtful, conversational.

I'm so anxious to read Everyman and get involved in that conversation.
