Truth be told, I really, really, REALLY don't much care about all this DaVinci Code shit. I tend not to participate in cultural phenomenons of any kind unless forced at gunpoint. i don't intend to read the book or see the movie. Having said that, The New Yorker's Peter J. Boyer does an excellent job of showing how Hollywood fell in love with this story, found out it was a hot potato, and has managed to use the controversy to its advantage -- at this stage anyway. The big question, raised by Slate.com, is: Does the movie suck?
