The Triumph of Yiyun Li

Over a year ago, I reviewed Yiyun Li's A Thousand Years of Good Prayers, and could do little more than say "Hurray!" I wasn't alone, and the enthusiasm now seems to be catching on in Britain, where the author has just won the Guardian First Book Award.
