An Evening with Gore Vidal



Yes, he's now a dead ringer for one of those grumpy old men on "The Muppet Show," but the man who gave us one of the most memorable scenes of the 1968 campaign hasn't lost his vim or his venom 40 years later.

Two observations: He seems to acquire a British accent when talking to the BBC, and at 137, he's still a handsome dog.
