I love your piece on Seymour. I've read alot of literary criticism on the reasons why S. might have committed suicide. Ultimately, we will not have a reason and I think that is the point. Look at JDS's choice of putting a zen koan at the front of the book of Nine Stories. We can search and search for an answer but like the koan, we eventually must realize our reasoning will only run in circles until we understand that there is no answer. Knowing that I will never know has given me peace and thus I can get on with my life.
